Digital content (media) is any information available online. For brands this can be in the form of blogs, emails, newsletters, videos, podcasts, etc. The main aim of digital content for businesses is to use these eyeball touch points as an opportunity to teach consumers about your brand, or at least for them to recognise who/what your brand is about. The objective of targeted content will then be brand recognition, awareness and/or engagement.
